- What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
- To be reminded by unrequited love of my spiritual aloneness in the world.
- Where would you like to live?
- Where I am King to a Queen of my choosing.
- What is your idea of earthly happiness?
- To have my presence coveted by those people whom I cherish, and to feel no remorse for their desire: to have it be justified by improvement of myself and active caring and participation in their lives.
- To what faults do you feel most indulgent?
- The waves of the sea of my emotions buffet me and often throw me on rocks, but I feel little regret. I should control my emotions, but I do not. Instead, I let them run wild within me.
- Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?
- Fiction fails to interest me, so none, except for the simple heroes, with little avarice, ambition, or conceipt. Maybe Winston Smith. Or Jesus Christ, if and only if he was indeed fictional.
- Who are your favorite characters in history?
- Abraham Lincoln, Johannes Gutenberg, Nikola Tesla, Aristotle, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa and Billy Graham
- Who are your favorite heroines in real life?
- My sister.

- Again, fiction rarely captures my fancy. It is art that inspires me, and the women in paint on canvas are those who have inspired creation. Either muses, or mothers then.

- Johannes Vermeer or Pablo Picasso.
- Your favorite musician?
- Johann Sebastian Bach. But also Matt Ward, Thom Yorke, Thurston Moore, Beth Gibbons, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Lenoard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Louis Armstrong, Elle Fitzgerald, Neil Young and Robert Plant.
- The quality you most admire in a man?
- Consistency. Wisdom. Empathy.

- Genuineness, generosity, intelligence.

- The virtue of selflessness.

- Listening to music, making music, embracing a lover.
