What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
To be unwanted because of one's uselessness

Almost everywhere/anywhere

Libraries, friends, family, and coffee

Arrogance, when it is warranted

Those who act wholeheartedly and sincerely

I admire John Adams, many more characters amuse me --
Who are your favorite heroines in real life?
Jane Austen, women writers, Sister Dianna Ortiz, those actively working to change the world.

I don't have too many heroes/ heroines in fiction -- simply because I know too much about them from my objective standpoint. But, I admire, still, those who act wholeheartedly and sincerely.

Marc Chagall

Mozart

Intelligence, moral compass

Same as Proust -- the universal ones, whatever that entails.

Reading, dreaming, writing, conversing

I like being me.

Lack of understanding, swift (unwarranted) judgments, misunderstanding, my lack of grace

Currently (and possibly for always) Antoine de Saint-Exupery and Jane Austen.

Don't traffic often in poetry -- but John Donne makes me laugh.
Who are your heroes in real life?
The Japanese official who wrote thousands of visas for Jewish refugees during WWII. And others. (Real life and history are the same to me.)

Mary Seacole, Esther (from the Bible), Virginia Woolf.

Ones no one else has.

My own worst qualities

So many -- those without regard for anyone else but themselves.
