- I don't have too many heroes/ heroines in fiction -- simply because I know too much about them from my objective standpoint. But, I admire, still, those who act wholeheartedly and sincerely.

- Don't traffic often in poetry -- but John Donne makes me laugh.

- The Japanese official who wrote thousands of visas for Jewish refugees during WWII. And others. (Real life and history are the same to me.)

- Mary Seacole, Esther (from the Bible), Virginia Woolf.
