What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?: To be alone, depressed and unhappy
Where would you like to live?: In a major city with many easily accessible escapes to the beach
What is your idea of earthly happiness?: Good food, tasty drinks and many many books
To what faults do you feel most indulgent?: Reality TV
Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?: Garp. Raskolnikov. My imperfect perfect heroes.
Who are your favorite characters in history?: The unknown who changed the world.
Who are your favorite heroines in real life?: The women (and men) of DayOne-RI's Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center--Volunteering for them has been the toughest and greatest joy
Who are your favorite heroines of fiction?: Jane Eyre. Catherine Earnshaw. Again my imperfect perfect heroines
Your favorite painter?: Too many to choose from. But my favorite era is the Renaissance
Your favorite musician?: The voices that sell passion with crazy awesome riffs and hooks
The quality you most admire in a man?: Intelligence with a dash of not taking onself too seriously
The quality you most admire in a woman?: Confidence in character
Your favorite virtue?: Do unto others as you would want done to yourself
Your favorite occupation?: Learning. If that was a job I'd take it.
Who would you have liked to be?: Myself....but when I was younger I wish I had more confidence.
Your most marked characteristic?: Empathizer
What do you most value in your friends?: Loyalty and privacy
What is your principle defect?: Sometimes a. awful urge to always be right.
What to your mind would be the greatest of misfortunes?: Complete ignorance of the changing world around me
What would you like to be?: Only myself, but wiser
What is your favorite color?: Red
What is your favorite flower?: Easter Lily
What is your favorite bird?: Those that don't chirp at my window waking me up.... and peacocks
Who are your favorite prose writers?: Not sure
Who are your favorite poets?: In high school, Emily Dickenson, but now I'm not so sure.
Who are your heroes in real life?: Same as before.
Who are your favorite heroines of history?: The unknown who changed the world. Same as before
What are your favorite names?: The interesting without being ridiculous
What is it you most dislike?: Self righteousness
What historical figures do you most despise?: Too many too count...But those responsible for genocides (directly and indirectly)
What event in military history do you most admire?: The founding of the Red Cross
What natural gift would you most like to possess?: Not being so swift to anger
How would you like to die?: Much beloved would be nice
What is your present state of mind?: Busy busy busy...but not too busy to do this survey!
