What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?: Being stuck in a situation where you have no freedom to change anything. Also, boredom through repetition in life.
Where would you like to live?: Any country experiencing rapid cultural and social change. As of 2009, these countries would include India, China or Brazil.
What is your idea of earthly happiness?: Being able to live in complete intellectual and moral honesty with the people around me. Not having to have to hide anything from the world.
To what faults do you feel most indulgent?: Pretension, narcissism, egocentrism, reductionism and intellectual dishonesty
Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?: Anton Chigurh, Kain the Vampire, Judge Holden, Captain Ahab, Iago and Hans Landa. Male characters in fiction who linger in my thoughts tend to be the vllains. Men who redefine the meaning of evil.
Who are your favorite characters in history?: Bertrand Russell, Peter Singer, John Stuart Mill, Noam Chomsky, Jeremy Bentham, Epicurus and David Hume. Anyone who is beyond staying content with conventional norms of thinking and is a fighter for social progress.
Who are your favorite heroines in real life?: Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Emma Goldman and Shirin Ebadi. Anyone who is beyond staying content with conventional norms of thinking and is a fighter for social progress.
Who are your favorite heroines of fiction?: Those who teach this curious and inquiring young male what it means to be a woman. Rei Ayanami, Nurse Alma, Marge Gunderson, Ellen Ripley and Clarice Sterling.
